Download & Install Instructions
Installing Programs directly from the Website
Installing a program directly from the website is a short, simple procedure that ANYBODY can do, even if you have no computer experience. All you have to do is select the download link and follow these instructions:
- Select the "download" link above.
- Select "Run this program from it's current location", then select OK.
- Internet Explorer will download the Installation file as you watch.
- Select "Yes" to the Security message.
- Internet Explorer will launch the installation program.
This procedure may not work if you are using an old version of an Internet browser that doesn't support remote installations, which means you will need to download the file as described below. Of course, my immediate suggestion would be to upgrade to the latest version of Internet Explorer, which is FREE.

Downloading and Installing from your Hard Disc
Downloading the installation file and running it from your hard disc involves knowing how to use Windows Explorer and Start | Run to start the installation file. These procedures are second nature to experienced computer users, but quite possibly new to beginners. The main reason you would want to use this procedure is because you want to install the program in a different computer that doesn't have internet access, in which case you would download the installation file, copy it onto a floppy disc, and then install it on the other computer from the floppy disc. The procedure is:
- Determine what folder you want to use to receive the downloads, OR...
- Use Windows Explorer to create a download folder.
- Select the "download" link above.
- Select "Save this program to disc", then select OK.
- Make a note of the file name (SWDemo.exe, QBInstall.exe, etc.)
- Select the folder you want to download to, then select Save.
- Your Internet Explorer will download the Installation file as you watch.
- Close Internet Explorer.
- Select Start, then Run.
- Use Browse to find the folder and the Installation file (this is why you made a note of the file name).
- Select OK to launch the Installation program.

Computer Viruses
Worried about getting a virus from downloading a file from the Web? Well, it can't happen from actually downloading the file, only when you open the file. However, I can assure you that any file you download from the PowerTools Software website is absolutely virus-free.
